The advent of technology/knowledge based industry has paved vast avenues for younger generation either for self employment or for wage employment. However, these opportunities could not be tapped fully due to lack of ‘entrepreneurial’ potential. Our educational system needs fine tuning to equip the students for meeting the global challenges. By exposing the students to a unique learning environment, with strong emphasis on team work, leadership, setting challenging goals, need for a strong urge to excel, etc. the younger generation will be more productive and be a part of ‘nation builders’.

Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmadabad a National Resource Centre for entrepreneurship has conceptualized and launched an innovative Entrepreneurship Development Programme. This course will challenge students to confront more advanced issues faced by today's entrepreneurs, also expose the students to issues relating to analytical and lateral thinking, behavioral flexibility, team building, oral and written communication, personal selling, stress management and acceptance of uncertainty.

The program is sponsored by Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung (FNSt), a foundation of International repute from Germany and supported by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.
Islamic Finance as well as Print and Digital Media Management in Journalism are the two emerging courses. These two subjects will give additional impetus for the learners of Entrepreneurship.
